About the Artist
Nurzada Nussipzhan is a representational fine artist based in Germany. Born in Kazakhstan in 1994, she acquired traditional drawing and painting skills at Barcelona Academy of Art.
Her subject matter ranges from figurative works to en plein air landscapes. Nurzada's art is driven by the curiosity and the appreciation of the natural world.
She is mainly influenced by XIX painters, such as Bastien Lepage, Emil Friant, Edgar Maxence, Rosa Bonheur and Isaac Levitan.
Currently she is the Director of the Painting Program at Academy of Fine Art Germany.
A plein air piece represents an infinite variety of subtle shifts that happen while the painting is being created – the movement of clouds and branches, the ever-shifting light, the animals passing by, the rain, the wind.
I believe that executing paintings from life while in the presence of the subject enables me to infuse them with a greater sense of sincerity. They end up carrying a piece of the subject in them, occasionally quite literally, with bugs and twigs stuck to the paint layer.
